UGANDA EXPERIENCE:
John was excellent and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the trip and very willing to share his knowledge. His driving skills were excellent as we encountered many ‘rough’ roads and I always felt safe. John was very professional, always informing me of what was to happen on each day and times. He was always punctual. I could always ask questions which he would answer and we got on really well. I would highly recommend him and would have him as a guide again.
The 4WD was suitable for the many rough roads that we encountered and also appropriate for the game drives as the roof opened and I could stand up to look for the animals. The vehicle had plenty of room and was comfortable. Totally suitable for this kind of trip.
The lodges were well above my expectations, they were all in beautiful locations. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much bother. The small touches: like folding my bed back at night, spraying the room and surrounding my bed with the mosquito nets and having the lights on so it was not dark in my room when I came back from dinner was very much appreciated.
When I asked if I could have some laundry done, they could always do it overnight, brilliant service.
The food in all the lodges was very fresh and virtually cooked and immediately served. A good choice of foods on the menu as well. I enjoyed all of the lodges. I don’t think there was anything I would change except that it would have been nice to stay longer in the lodges but of course it was only nine days so that would not be possible.
The gorillas and chimpanzee tracking experiences were incredible and I would do both again ‘in a heart beat!’
Bigodi community walk was excellent from a cultural point of view, visited local families and saw how they utilize the different foods they grow in their area.
Overall it was an excellent itinerary with a diverse range of activities and excellent food and accommodation.
Kind regards
