7 days Rwanda gorilla & wildlife,  The 7 days Rwanda gorilla and wildlife safari includes 6 nights and meals in a comfortable safari lodge. It is a one-week primate and wildlife tour package worth booking on Rwanda safari. This package offers you a great chance to engage in mountain gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park, chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park, game drives and boat cruise in Akagera National Park.

The actual tour begins from Kigali then connect to Akagera National Park where you will explore diverse savanna dwellers especially the big five game (elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions and leopard).

Brief itinerary of your 7 days Rwanda gorilla and wildlife safari

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali Airport to the hotel

Day 2: Drive from Kigali to Akagera National Park

Day 3: Game drive and drive to Volcanoes National Park

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Day 5: Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park and drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

Day 7: Return to Kigali

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali International Airport to the hotel

Pick-up by our experienced tour guide on arrival at Kigali Airport. Head to the hotel you booked for a night stay in Kigali capital city after a warm greeting and briefing about your 7 days Rwanda gorilla and wildlife safari tour.

Day 2: Drive from Kigali to Akagera National Park

Wake up to have a hefty breakfast and after, meet your safari leader well-prepared for your 2-3 hours’ drive journey to Akagera National Park in the eastern province of Rwanda. In your comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle, enjoy the scenic country side and on arrival, you will be served lunch at the lodge.

After lunch, you will spend your afternoon on a rewarding boat cruise via the stunning Lake Ihema. This allows you enjoy incredible sight of several hippos, basking crocodiles and water birds as well as some elephants, buffaloes that roam around the lake shores.

Day 3: Game drive and drive to Volcanoes National Park

Get the best of Rwanda’s tasty coffee or tea and after, meet your guide for an early morning game drive through one of the game/wildlife trails on the Northern section of Akagera.  Your 2 to 3 hours game drive will reward you with amazing sight of the big five game (leopards, lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos) plus giraffes, antelopes, warthogs and lots of birds. Drive back for lunch and check out then connect to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri region.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After a hefty breakfast, you will be expected to report to Kinigi Park Offices for 7:00am briefing on gorilla trekking rules. With your packed lunch and bottled drinking water, the park ranger guide will accompany you to search for the assigned gorilla family starting at 8:00am. The entire adventure can take you from 2 to 6 hours depending on where these creatures are and how fast you will walk.

Ten habituated gorilla families can be trekked Volcanoes National Park and these include Karisimbi, Susa, Kwitonda, Hirwa, Ugenda, Amahoro, Bwenge, Umubano, Agashya and Sabyinyo. Once you locate the gorilla group that was assigned to you, only one hour will be allowed for you to interact, explore more about these apes and photo taking.

Walk back after your magical encounter to have some rest at the lodge. In the evening, engage in cultural walk in Iby’Iwacu cultural center to enjoy amazing dances, music and learn more about the traditions, cultures of Rwandese.

Day 5: Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park and drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Enjoy your early morning breakfast and then report to Kinigi once again for briefing on golden monkey tracking rules. Trekking golden monkeys is one rewarding primate experience and today, it takes you about 2-4 hours to search for these strikingly stunning creatures in the wild and it includes one hour of magical encounter. After, walk back to check out of your gorilla safari lodge then transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking & canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast report to Cyangungu or Uwinka to be briefed on chimpanzee tracking rules and to be assigned park ranger guide to take you through a search for chimpanzees. At 8:00am, start your actual chimpanzee trek that may last you about 2 to 4 hours including one hour of magical encounter with chimpanzees in the wild and photography. Expect also to come across the colobus monkeys, baboons, mangabeys, L’Hoest monkeys, the blue monkeys and forest birds.

Walk back to have lunch at the lodge and relax as you wait for an afternoon canopy walk, first of its kind in East Africa. This lets you spot lots of primates, birds and enjoy the stunning beauty of Nyungwe Forest canopy.

Day 7: Return to Kigali

After breakfast, you are expected to check out and then meet your driver guide who will drive you back to Kigali. You will have a quick city tour in Kigali or drive direct to Kigali airport to catch up with your flight back home
