The 8 Days Uganda Ultimate Primate Safari takes you to Kibale Forest National Park, home to several primate species including chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red colobus monkeys, baboons, red tailed monkeys etc.  It is also home to over 375 bird species. Visit Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park– home to half of the worlds remaining mountain gorillas and also explore Uganda wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park with a variety of savanna dwellers. Kazinga Channel,(linking Lake Edward & George) is also home to hippos, crocodiles and several species of birds.

Day 1:  Arrive Entebbe Uganda. (BB)
Day 2: Depart to Kibale forest – the primate capital of primates (+/-7 hrs) / Bigodi swamp walk. (BLD)
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking activity / Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (+/-4hrs. (BLD)
Day 4:  Morning game drive / Afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. (BLD)
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi National Park. Home to half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas (+/- 6hrs) (BLD)
Day 6: Enjoy the ultimate gorilla experience in the jungles of Uganda.  (BLD)
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo  (BLD)
Day 8: Departure

DETAILED ITINERARY:
8 DAYS UGANDA ULTIMATE PRIMATE SAFARI
07 Nights / 08 Days
Places Visited: Kibale park, Queen Elizabeth park, Bwindi Gorilla Park & Lake Mburo Park.

Day 1: Arrive Entebbe Airport – Entebbe (Approx. 20 mins)
On arrival at the Entebbe airport, you will be met and transferred to the hotel in Entebbe by a local representative. The rest of the evening is at leisure.
Overnight @ Hotel. (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 2: Kibale National Park (Approx. 358 Kms / 7 hrs) / Bigodi village walk.
Transfer to Kibale forest – the primate capital of Uganda. After lunch, take a visit to Bigodi swamp walk with opportunity to view birds and primates. visit the local community during a village walk – which will give you an insight into the African way of life.
Overnight @ Lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 3: Chimp Trekking / Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park (Approx. 157 Kms / 4 hrs.)
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred for briefing before you start your chimp trek. Your experienced ranger guide will lead you as you hike through the tropical forest for an unforgettable and rewarding experience in search of man’s closest relatives the Chimpanzees. It takes anything from 1 hour or more before locating the chimps. You are allowed to stay one hour with them after locating them. Chimp trekking and birding are the main activities in this forest amidst other.
After, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will be driven along the Rwenzori mountains in the backdrop offering great views.
After, transfer to your lodge. Overnight @ lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 4: Game drive / Launch Cruise on Lake Albert
After early morning tea or Coffee, you will head for a Game drive along the Kasenyi tracks in search of animals like: Lions, Cape Buffalos, elephants, warthogs, waterbuck said, spotted hyenas, man goose, Kobe and if you are lucky the leopard. Over 606 bird species have been recorded in this park, and most notably along the Kazinga channel.

In the afternoon a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to Lodge.

Day 5: Ishasha game drive / Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, transfer through the park through Ishasha sector famed for the tree-climbing lions. Game drive before transferring to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Home of the Endangered Mountain Gorillas. Overnight @ lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 6: Gorilla trekking experience OR Gorilla Habituation Experience / Optional: Batwa visit
After Early breakfast, proceed to the park Hq for briefing on rules and safety measures to be observed during the trekking activity. Then depart for your Gorilla trekking experience OR Habituation experience.

*GORILLA TREKKING:
The gorilla trek can take anything from few minutes to several hours depending on where they nested the previous night. Gorillas are amazing creatures, with so much energy yet gentle therefore commonly known as the gentle giants of Bwindi. Once you locate the gorillas with help of your guide and trackers, you are allowed to stay with them for only one hour – take pictures and learn more about their habits.
Gorilla Trekking is unpredictable, and physical fitness is required for this adventure. After trekking, return to the lodge.

*GORILLA HABITUATION EXPERIENCE:
The experience ensures you take a more active role in the protection and understanding of these gentle giants, as you join rangers and conservationists in the habituation process. This process gives insight into the lives of the Gorillas, & helps you understand Gorilla behaviours & social dynamics. After finding them, spend 4hrs with the gorillas. – This is a full day Experience and physical fitness is needed.
Overnight @ lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

 *Optional: Batwa visit:
If time allows, take an evening walk to the Batwa community to enjoy cultural & music performances as well as ancient culture demonstrations.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park (+/- 6 hrs.) from Bwindi. After lunch, take an afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. Later, transfer to your lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, visit the equator enroute, and transfer Kampala / Entebbe for your flight to your next destination / departure. (Breakfast only)
