Arrive early and ensure you have a valid Rwanda gorilla permit and passport ready for verification at Kinigi Park Offices. After, join other visitors for briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations starting at 7:00am. The park official will also allocate to you a gorilla group which you will trek as a group of 8 trekkers. A single group of trekkers will be accompanied by an armed and experienced park ranger guide.

Begin the actual search for a habituated gorilla family at 8:00am. This involves navigating through the dense vegetation and steep slopes to see mountain gorillas. A gorilla trek can last you between 2 and 6 hours less or more depending on your speed of walking, where the gorillas can be found and the general nature of the habitat.

Once you come across a mountain gorilla family group, you have only one hour to have incredible moment with these massive primates and have an in-depth exploration on their feeding habits, body gestures, mating habits, how they communicate to each other and a lot more.
