NATIONAL DESTINATION MARKETING STRATEGY UGANDA UNVEILED.

The National Destination Marketing Strategy 2024–2029 has been unveiled in Uganda, as a strategic plan to position itself as a preferred international tourism destination. The Strategy aims to diversify tourism beyond the popular western regions, promote lesser-known areas like Karamoja and West Nile, and ensure benefits reach all regions.

The strategy emphasizes infrastructure upgrades, cultural storytelling, community involvement, and sustainable growth. It also targets increasing Uganda’s share in the MICE market and promoting responsible tourism. While challenges exist, the plan seeks to drive inclusive economic development, empower local communities, and elevate Uganda’s global tourism profile.
