Uganda’s hoteliers celebrated the Uganda hotel owners association – 25th anniversary, during the annual Hospitality Expo held at Hotel Africana in Kampala from August 1-3, 2025. The three-day event, supported by key institutions like the Uganda Tourism Board and Uganda Wildlife Authority, aimed to inspire new investments, support industry growth, and position Uganda as a leading hospitality destination in Africa and beyond.
Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, Martin Mugarra Bahinduka, urged hoteliers to support investment and build capacity within the sector. UHOA Board Chairperson, Suzan Muhwezi, emphasized the importance of collaboration among tourism operators, regulators, technology providers, and investors to create innovative solutions.
The expo also featured cooking and eating competitions, with several winners being awarded for their culinary skills, highlighting the vibrant talent within Uganda’s hospitality industry.
