UGANDA – INDONESIA BUSINESS FORUM BOOSTS BILATERAL PARTNERSHIPS.

On July 10, 2025, the Uganda–Indonesia Business Forum in Jakarta marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties across sectors like tourism, trade, minerals, oil, gas, and digital innovation. The event united government officials, investors, and business leaders, highlighting Uganda’s strategic location, natural resources, and growing digital infrastructure as attractive investment opportunities.

Trade between the countries increased by 47.25% from 2020 to 2024, with Uganda exporting mainly cocoa and leather, and Indonesia exporting steel, machinery, and glass. Key sectors for Indonesian investment include ICT, agribusiness, textiles, tourism, mining, and halal logistics.

Uganda aims to boost exports, develop halal markets, and foster sustainable growth, supported by attractive incentives such as tax holidays, repatriation rights, and full foreign ownership. The forum set the stage for long-term partnerships, focusing on economic growth, innovation, and regional integration.
