During the 2nd UN Tourism and ICAO Ministerial Conference in Africa, Uganda’s delegation, led by the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, held a bilateral meeting with Angola’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Marcio Daniel. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in tourism development, knowledge exchange, and regional cooperation.
Both ministers recognized the importance of building strong tourism linkages across Africa to boost intra-African travel, improve air connectivity, and position the continent as a competitive global destination. Hon. Butime emphasized Uganda’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Angola, particularly in destination marketing, capacity building, investment, and sustainable tourism practices.
He also presented a gift to Hon. Daniel as a symbol of Uganda’s hospitality and the friendship between the two countries. The discussions reaffirmed their shared goal of promoting inclusive, resilient, and sustainable tourism across Africa, aligning with the conference’s focus on enhancing air transport’s role in transforming tourism on the continent.
