THE GREAT AFRICAN CYCLING SAFARI – OFFICIALLY FLAGGED OFF IN UGANDA:

The 8th Edition of the Great African Cycling Safari (GACS) was officially launched in Kampala, Uganda, with Uganda Tourism Board CEO flagging off the 55-day, 6,000-kilometer journey across Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, and Kenya.
The event, organized by the Pan African Federalist Movement in partnership with the EAC, promotes peace, regional integration, environmental conservation, and food security.

Kaggwa praised the cyclists and organizers for leveraging sport to foster East African unity, cultural exchange, and sustainable tourism. She highlighted Uganda’s role as the event’s starting point and emphasized the journey’s broader message of resilience and shared prosperity. Throughout the trip, participants will visit key tourist sites and engage local communities, raising awareness on environmental and developmental issues, showcasing the region’s potential as a unified tourism destination.
