The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) Board of Directors and Management team have convened a strategic retreat to strengthen Uganda’s tourism sector. The retreat includes guided visits to key tourism sites and hospitality establishments around Mbale, aimed at gaining deeper insights into the region’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and tourism infrastructure.
A significant part of the retreat involves engaging with tourism stakeholders from the Elgon region through an interactive session focused on collaboration, opportunities, and challenges in regional tourism development. UTB Chairperson emphasized the importance of inclusive growth, highlighting Mbale and the Elgon region’s vital role in Uganda’s tourism narrative.
UTB CEO underscored the retreat’s purpose in aligning strategies, enhancing organizational efficiency, and reinforcing Uganda’s position as a top tourism destination. The outcomes are expected to guide the Board’s strategic direction for the upcoming year, supporting the sector’s recovery and growth through shared vision, innovation, and regional partnership.
